I read the bad reviews, but bought this second set of books because I loved the first set. Contrary to most of the other reviews, I saw nothing more pornographic or unduly dark In these books than I have in most of the books out today. True in one book, maybe more spicier than the others, but nothing more than real life. My guess is the people who wrote view contrary to mine have no skeletons in their family closet nor ever watch reality tv (Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Which, sad as it may be, IS true reality tv). The books are just as charming as the first set. The characters are nicely fleshed out (as in believable, not as in...you get my point), but most of all, they are all struck in one way or another with the disease we know as the human condition. My opinion is only one of many. I read a LOT! I have found the whole set, 1-7 of "Once Upon A Wedding" series to be a wonderful escape from my day to day life, and frankly, Isn't that why we read novels anyway? I would highly recommend these books, especially if you read the first set. If the thought of any sexual situations makes you queasy, skip over those pages when you come to them, and read the rest. Even doing that, I'm pretty sure it would still make a great book. As for me, I'll read it as written and catch all the nuances that the author wanted to be read.

I truly loved every story! My problem is that none of them had a (to my opinion) ending. Every story left me hanging, no ending. They all needed a epilogue at least! l liked the interaction of all the characters of the other books, (I bought both sets), and every story was a page turner, but I guess I needed a happy ever after ending or at least tell me what happens in the next few months, something. Don't leave me hanging!

The writing is pretty good. The author conveys feelings and inner life pretty well, and makes us love the main family who are the heroes of each book. However, sometimes the miscommunication is so contrived in order to keep the hero and heroine from acknowledging their true feelings to each other or the premium placed on scandal, that it made me literally want to cry with frustration at moments, especially the two middle books. It became hard to believe that people would consider it more scandalous to elope with the person you love than to be engaged to a murderer, or that it took Hero until chapter twenty-something to simply sit down with her husband and ask about his true feelings... But overall I certainly enjoyed the books.

I like to escape with an enjoyable book that is not too complicated; a break from the complications of life. There are times when I like to read more in depth books but I also enjoy a simple book that makes you laugh and cry but ultimately has a happy ending. This series finds a man for each independent woman who don't loose their independence but who are accepted for who they are and find their own prince charming.Because the books are predictable I could not give it a 5 star rating but I would recommend this series to anyone who would love an escape from life's complications.

I'll be honest: I got these books because they were inexpensive and I liked the first. However, ALL of the books have grammatical errors (which drives me crazy)! I skipped the sixth book altogether because I was already disappointed with the way the story lines played out... I do like the premise of these books but the execution lacks focus (and a good editor).

I liked the stories until I came across some of the many unanswered questions. For example, how did Miranda suddenly have two children after years of being infertile? There was a hint about some type of tea and Miranda in Ros' story but only a hint. There were others but this was the most important. How about a novella to clear up this one big gap in the series? (Hint, hint)

I totally enjoyed this book. It was so entertaining that I promptly bought all the other books in this series. What most surprised me was the inventiveness of the author. Each of the seven books had a completely different feel. The characters came alive in their unusual strides towards finding true love. I enjoyed reading the stories of all six sisters and one brother. I knew that there would be happy endings, but how these endings were achieved held my attention and made me want to keep reading. I highly recommend all these books.

I love boxed set of novels because they are so reasonable in price. The Once Upon a Wedding Boxed Set contains 4 novels dealing with the Fenster family of twins Valentins and Miranda and their 5 sisters. They take place in Victorian England where society frowns upon a young woman who has a thought in her head and expressed it. The stories are delightful and each one can stand alone, but together they tell the story of the Fenster children and how they married happily ever after.
